I was doing meditation and the guide mentioned watching our train of thought and to try to see where it’s going etc etc.
In my mind I saw an actual train, with each car carrying an individual thought. I watched it come into the station and wait for me to pick a topic. I realized that I don’t have to pick one, I can just sit on the bench and watch the train come into the station and then watch it roll out – without ever connecting to or being consumed by any one of those cars.
If I choose to pick one of the ideas on that train, I can … and it’ll wait in the station until I put it back or issue to onward to it’s next destination.
Meditation is something that most women find a million reasons not to do – too busy, can’t stop thoughts, can’t sit still etc etc etc. But I challenge you to try it and visualize your train of thoughts – without the need to pick one and analyze it but instead to just let it coast out of the station. There are lots of different types and lengths of time on YouTube – but find one that’s short and the guide is a voice you find relaxing. Follow their instructions and learn to identify your Train.
