In my opinion, humans are continuously searching for Peace. It’s usually defined in context with our relationships with other people, groups of people, or countries/organizations. However, if we stopped looking for it, we could see that it’s actually internal and, most importantly, attainable.
What if Peace is the normal state of being instead of something external? If we are trying to attain peace from disharmony, disturbance or violence, we’re actually focused on an outward situation – and a negative one at that. If we come to define Peace as the normal state of being and focus on that energetic vibration, we’d be separate from chaos and focused on peace instead – the positive, normal state of our existence. Afterall, that’s the Law of Attraction: what you focus on is what you manifest.
Once we understand that Peace is already within us, (a normal, natural state of being) it creates freedom for the mind – no annoyance, distraction, anxiety, obsession can exist inside you, and only tranquillity and serenity exist.
How do you attain the connection to your inner Peace?
Meditation is an amazing tool to connect to that inner place. Many times, when I suggest meditation to clients I hear “I’ve tried and I just can’t meditate”. Funny enough, I used to think the same way. Our expectation is usually the challenge however. We think if we just sit for 5 minutes, meditation will just happen all by itself. It takes dedication, patience and a true understanding of the practice in order for meditation to become comfortable.
What it does however, is connect us back to our normal – our Peace. It also teaches us to observe the chaos happening around us. When we observe the events occurring in our environment, we’re no longer sucked into the drama and dysfunction of it.
