Authenticity Basics

Trying to find out who you are at your deepest level is probably one of the hardest things EVER! This is not an easy undertaking and will not be done in a day or even maybe a week. There is no finished product either – authenticity is a creative thing that changes as we evolve into our true being and find our life purpose.

No one succeeds the very first time they try something new – especially in making personal and life changes. Try it on for size and if it doesn’t fit, adjust it.

When we shop for clothes or shoes, we try it on, walk around in it, look in the mirror and asses the item. If it pinches, we try another size – if the color or cut isn’t flattering we put it back and adjust our subconscious so we don’t waste time trying it on again in the future. We streamline our shopping experiences.

Life is like that. Try it on … look at a new style and walk around in it. If it doesn’t mesh with our authentic self, put it back. It’s not meant for you!

Society has been unforgiving when it comes to trying new things and not being perfect on the first try – they’ve called it failure. But that’s changing – needs to change. Failure is only when we deny our authentic selves, when we let fear hold us back, when we don’t try something on for size. The rest are life lessons!

Is it going to be easy?

NOPE not at all … it’s going to feel hard, awkward even.

My personal favorite rule for situations like that is “fake it till you make it” … Life is about perception. If you walk into a room and appear to be without fear/confident, the room will treat you like that. They don’t know that you’re sweating buckets of insecurities! If you persist and practice, practice, practice it’ll soon become the new normal.

Successful, happy people aren’t born, they’re cultivated!
