So many of us get stuck trying to change our lives because we can’t accept our starting point. If that is you, then read on cause I think this might assist you.
What is acceptance? Acceptance is surrendering to what is: your job, your feelings, your problems, your financial situation, the delay of your dreams. Before you can change or create anything new, you have to realize that this is where you’re meant to be RIGHT NOW. A favorite author of mine, Sarah Ban Breathnach, calls this the “long sigh of the soul”.
How do you find acceptance? One way is to tell yourself “it’s okay, you’re okay” or “Everything is going to turn out all right”. My personal favorite that got me through some dark and scary days was this one: This too shall pass. I have come to understand that sometimes my choices got me to this place and sometimes it’s circumstances, but when looked at in hindsight, this is exactly where I need to be – to learn the life lesson or gain understanding or to learn a new skill.
What happens when you accept? First and foremost, you’re going to relax. And when you relax, you change your vibration, your energy, and your heart-rate. Once you’ve settled back into positivity and flow, you’re once again connected to Universe and able to listen to it’s whispers and queues. Acceptance also illuminates reality so that we’re better able to see the next step.
Whatever situation exists in your life right now, accept it. Look at your life dead in the eyes and say “this is my reality and this is what I have to work with right now … and that’s okay – this is real life!”
